Lemongrass, a perennial herb with long, sharp-edged blades. The fresh stalks and leaves have a clean lemon like odour and is due to the presence of an essential oil, which is also present in lemon.
We transport the lemongrass to our central processing facility to undergo processing steps. The processing steps for lemon grass include select of sun burns one out of greens, cut using machine cuts into small pieces, sun dry for several hours then under shade for several days and sieve. before place the cuttings on tarpaulins under shade to a maximum of 12% moisture content.
We monitor each processing step for each lot to ensure set quality operating standards are met.
Packaging is 20kg in a food grade polypropylene bag certified by the Tanzania Bureau Standards.
Shipping in 20ft or 40ft FCL mixed or full single load per product. Containerization takes place under dry conditions. Ensure that history of container is revealed, clean and have the walls and ceiling covered with corrugated carton and fixed with moisture catchers to absorb moisture and avoid mould formation.
